Welcome to
mainly music!

Mondays & Fridays from 9:45am at
Belair Baptist Church during school terms

Adamstown mainly music is one of many groups throughout New Zealand, Australia and in other parts of the world. Each mainly music is associated with and run by volunteers from a local church. We started in 2013 with a group of volunteers who wanted to introduce children to music, dance, beat, rhythm and more, as well as provide a base for families in the area to think about the God-part of life. Our hope is to provide a welcoming environment where your child can have fun, you can make a friend and grow as a person!

How to get the most out of our group

Mainly Music Mothers Day

Like us, you want the best for your child and helping them to develop is a significant step in your child's formative years. Throughout the morning, your child will be learning and developing gross and fine motor skills, language, imagination, maths and pre-reading skills as well as socialisation skills.

Also, we know that the parenting journey can be hard. We can help with a meal or someone to talk to if needed. We're always happy to pray with you too.

Behaviour Guidelines

We want mainly music to be fun and safe for everyone! Here are some ways you can help contribute to that environment:

  1. Shared responsibility. While our volunteers are here to assist and chat, please make sure to monitor your own child's whereabouts and behaviour at all times through the morning.

  2. Addressing Conflict. If your child has a disagreement with another child, please assist in resolving the conflict - it is an opportunity to teach them how to apologise and show empathy!

  3. Difficult Behaviour. If you Child is having a really difficult time or is overly aggressive, you may need to take them home, or give them a 'time out'.

  4. Preparation. Sometimes it can help to discuss the upcoming session positively with your child, reinforcing boundaries and expectations.

  5. Ask for help. Our team love kids! Please chat to us about any changes your child is experiencing, and ask for tips about how to make it a positive experience for both you and your child. We're happy to make adjustments where appropriate.

Our goal is for mainly music to be a wonderful experience fo your and your child, we hope its the highlight of their week! If you have any questions or need more information about specific aspects, please just ask! We're very approachable :)

Thank you for your support in making mainly music so awesome!
